Passions: Passions are in everything. In the cold drizzling breeze damp with dew, in the trickles of an after shower; in the wind; in the fire; in the grass and the leaves... in everything. Mine rage like the fire, wild as the elements; further than the nearest stars, darker than the night. I am lost there, this darkness that consumes me. It is I; I am it and yet, I do not know. Confusion. Once more, I am afraid but I am alone. So I read. Or write. Draw, paint, sculpt, sketch, and verse the thoughts that tear at me... these basset hounds that bay at me. A thirsty desire sedated by nothing except knowledge. Knowledge of everything. A science of the universe: physics. Perhaps that will be the answer. Or biology, memetics, psychology, metaphysics, philosophy, religion. Maybe I will find it in history, in myth, in the deepest regions of humanity. I hope to find answers. But will I? I am the question. Will I be the answer? Music: Among the concepts I love transcended from the abstract to the concrete is music. But not just any kind of music. Music that makes me feel, that makes me cry or sigh, or broken hearted. The music that moves mountains, that embodies the soul, that SINGS to the soul wordlessly... That is the kind of music I listen to. They can be historical time pieces like the classical pieces of Tchikaovsky or Wagner; Duran Duran or The Cure; Type O Negative or Fields of Nephilim. They can be Metallica or Manson; Bush or the B52's; Judas Priest or Morbid Angel. Sam Sham and the Pharoee's "Little Red Riding Hood". Techno, Industiral, Gothic/Ambient, Metal (Death/Black), Rock, Alternative, Celtic, Middle Eastern, Arabic, Nature, Ethnic.. Whatever name they go by. Books: Books are a form of physical thought. I am a voracious reader and I read anything from graphical novels to science textbooks. Some of my favorite graphic novels (i.e. comic books) include: Hothead Paisan, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Strangers in Paradise, Sandman Series (Gaiman), and Tankgirl. Some of the subject areas that interest me as far as books go are: Anthropology, philosophy, psychology, history, gender studies (women), metaphysics, religion (all), science, fiction, science fiction, horror, true crime, and fantasy... Damn. That covers just about everything. Heh. I'm a book freak okay? A sucker for cyberpunk as much as existentialism. :P << index ::
